Do you really need a Texas LLC?
The honest counter-question before you order: if what draws you to Texas is mainly the look, you do not need a Texas LLC for it. Your business address is yours to choose, in any state, for any LLC. You can get a Dallas address from one of the many virtual business address providers for around $20 to $150 a month; you book that yourself, directly with the provider, and it is not part of our package. Combined with a Wyoming LLC you get the same presence, plus anonymity in the register and the strongest statutory asset protection in the US.
There are two things an address cannot replace, though, and they belong to the full picture. First: your contracts and invoices state the company's state of formation. If you need "Texas" to appear there explicitly, you really do need the Texas LLC. Second: an address is appearance, not substance. If you actually keep premises, staff or ongoing business operations in Texas, you create a real connection there with reporting and tax consequences, regardless of where the LLC was formed. Set-ups like that belong in a consultation (held in English only) beforehand.
And if your reason for Texas is a personal or business tie: good choice. That is exactly what this page is for.
Why Texas?
The number one business state No anonymityTexas is an excellent choice for your US LLC. The Lone Star State offers you a thriving economy and a business-friendly climate. Formation costs are relatively low, and there is no state income tax. That last point does not matter for your zero-tax LLC, but it says something about the political climate in Texas. You benefit from robust infrastructure and a large market. The varied landscape and warm climate make it a pleasant place to live and work. Texas is also strategically well placed for trade with Latin America. With an LLC in Texas, you have a solid base for your business. Compared with Delaware and Wyoming, Texas has an untarnished, roll-up-your-sleeves "doer" image. There is no anonymity.
Our firm is at home here
There is one difference no other page in this atlas can offer: Texas is the state where we ourselves are based. Mount Bonnell Advisors works at 8000 Centre Park Drive in Austin; your Registered Agent, your mail, your team and the attorneys on the firm's team are here, not in an anonymous agent network three time zones away. When your LLC is formed in Texas, it is looked after where we unlock the door every morning.
Then there is something that is hard to measure and easy to feel: weight. The state name appears on every contract, every invoice and every legal notice you sign, and "a Texas LLC" sounds like Tesla, SpaceX and the second-largest economy in the US. Since 2024 the state has underlined this with its own commercial courts, the Texas Business Courts, with specialised judges instead of juries. And with us everything comes from one source: state, business address and firm are in the same place. Anyone who looks closely sees a coherent picture rather than a construction.
Austin itself is the state's best argument: the city that Tesla, Oracle and half of Silicon Valley moved to, the live music capital of the world, a boomtown with barbecue. The Hill Country west of the city has a European streak too: in the 19th century, German immigrants founded towns there such as Fredericksburg, where "Willkommen" still hangs over the shops today. That Texas first made itself independent as a republic of its own in 1836 and exchanged ambassadors for nine years before joining the United States explains the rest: the Lone Star on the flag means it.

Asset protection
CLASS A-Very strong charging order protection, confirmed by statute for single-member LLCs too. This is the first league of asset protection, just behind Wyoming. In 2023 Texas expressly confirmed this protection by statute for single-member LLCs as well (S.B. 2314).
Rating: our firm's assessment based on the company law, not legal advice for your individual case.
Transparency in the register
Texas does NOT offer anonymity. The details of the Texas LLC's member are published in the company register.
If discretion is a priority for you, take a look at Wyoming, New Mexico or Delaware. More under anonymity.
